Guido Rizzotto has dedicated his life to winemaking, truly a man in love with his land. Every day, with great passion and dedication, Guido works tirelessly to achieve excellence both in the vineyards and the cellar. Today, his daughter Laura is guiding the evolution of Balestra with her own unique personality. She loves nature and, day after day, brings her creativity and concern for the environment into the family business. She represents a new generation of winegrowers who are committed to producing exceptional wines while respecting and protecting the land and its precious biodiversity.

My approach to viticulture is rooted in a deep respect for the balance of nature. I have said “no” to pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers. Instead, I say “yes” to fostering biodiversity, safeguarding native grape varieties, and supporting beekeeping in the vineyards. When vines, flowers, woodland, and orchards coexist, bees find a happy home here as well. Every day, I feel more grateful for all that the bees contribute and teach us; protecting them is the least we can do.
