The “La Carmela” brand was established alongside the founding of the company in 1958.
The D’acunzi brothers chose to dedicate their brand to a beloved cousin named Carmela, who had recently passed away. “For us, family has always been at the heart of everything, and this sense of unity is the foundation of the company’s strength and competitive advantage.” Known as the “Kings of Pummarola,” FRATELLI D’ACUNZI is a family-owned cannery located in Nocera Superiore that has been producing a high-quality preserved tomato, since 1958.
Only fully ripened and carefully selected San Marzano tomatoes cultivated in this region are used to produce La Carmela peeled tomatoes. These whole peeled tomatoes are preserved without skin and in their own juice, ensuring freshness and an intense red color. They are ideal for all types of dishes, whether hot or cold, and suitable for any occasion.
The production process combines advanced technology with traditional manual craftsmanship, mirroring methods from the past. The guiding principle followed by everyone at this cannery is: “Prepare canned tomatoes as if you were making them for your own home.”
