The Guido family has been guiding the vine growing and wine production at La Caplana since the last century.
The first family member to manage the vineyard was Natalino’s grandfather. He faced the challenge of the disastrous phylloxera that struck the area in 1925, destroying most of the vineyards.
Fortunately, he was able to save the old Vignavecchia vineyard, which remains a treasured part of the Caplana winery.
The care of La Caplana then passed to Natalino’s father, Gerolamo, who continued planting and nurturing vines on the high hills of Vignavecchia. This work often involves plenty of effort and perseverance, as the vines are grown on very steep slopes.
Today, Natalino Guido personally oversees all the aspects of vine growing and winemaking. He takes great pride in continuing the family tradition and dedication to producing fine wines that truly reflect the unique character of their land.
