The hazelnut is one of the proudest product excellences of the Langhe region and has traditionally been grown as a delightful complement to the vineyards. Ciabot Berton cultivates his hazelnuts in a charming small orchard right beside his Barolo vineyards in La Morra, the heart of Barolo production. The terroir there, especially the mineral-rich soil, creates perfect conditions for growing the prized Piemontese Hazelnut (Tonda Gentile Trilobata).
