Silvia Maestrelli, from a Florentine entrepreneurial family, fell in love with Mount Etna’s wild, contrast-rich terrain in 2006 — a true coup de foudre for a land as challenging as it was full of untapped winemaking potential. Alongside her husband and partner Roberto Silva, she began a journey that led to the founding of Tenuta di Fessina in 2007, after extensive negotiations with the area’s historic landowners. With a distinctive winemaking vision and the technical expertise of key collaborators — including CEO Jacopo Maniaci and winemaker/agronomist Benedetto Alessandro — Tenuta di Fessina grew in just 10 years into one of Etna’s most celebrated and recognizable wineries, now a leading ambassador for the new wave of Sicilian viticulture worldwide.
